Pixalere
Pixalere ('pix' for pixel and 'alere' meaning 'to tend to') is a web-based, wireless application that assists healthcare providers in the treatment and management of patients in a homecare setting. Home Care Nurses are equipped with an easy to use handheld device that enables them to instantly update the patients condition complete with colour photos and wound assessment data. A physician or clinician can then access the record in a secure manner via the Internet from anywhere in the world and prescribe treatment while the nurse is still at the patients bedside. The database also allows the hospital or regional centre to generate comprehensive reporting on product usage and standards.

Pixalere
maximizes efficiency, communication & collaboration to help health care professionals and wound care patients reach common goals:

1. Quality care
2. Accurate assessments
3. Cost-efficient delivery of care
4. Increased morale among patients and care providers
Pixalere MD As the Pixalere™ Wound Management Solution continues to grow its install base nationally, we are looking to add more functionality through the introduction of new modules that address the needs of other health care disciplines.

Pixalere In Kenya In 2003, a physician from British Columbia was able to use Pixalere technology to transfer images of burn victims in Kenya to colleagues at MSA Hospital in Abbotsford, BC. The use of Pixalere enabled collaboration and treatment advice to be administered remotely, by specialists in the treatment of burn wounds; Pixalere was the vehicle for transfer of digital images and written observations from the on-sight physician, and then the subsequent treatment recommendations from the specialists in BC.

In Kenya, the use of Pixalere provided access to specialists where previously there was none, improving the quality of care that was delivered and the ability of the patient’s wounds to heal.
